Copilot pocket pc 5 crack
One question I always receive a lot on every package is people wanting to know how much further the latest version of an application has improved upon previous versions. Here we show some screenshot's dating back from CoPilot 3.
CoPilot Version 5 is what I would call a major upgrade, the whole interface has been re-designed from scratch, new views added, better safety screen, new maps and a whole lot more. It just doesn't feel like it has had a few tweaks here or there like most of their competitors, and CoPilot Live 5 really does feel like it has jumped substantially into the lead. The Postcode lookup does support up to 5 digits which is the maximum you will achieve under any application. This is mainly due to the cost of licensing this information from the Royal Mail.
Navigating, re-routing and Traffic did work extremely well, and one feature I have always liked about CoPilot in the past is the robustness, and this has been increased with many new features and Graphical changes.
ALK say this should now be fixed. I think a lot of people will be going for the WAV file install as it nearly contains the same information albeit it doesn't speak the street name.
ALK will be offering a "scratch-off" product key card similar to what Orange or Vodafone sells as top-up cards. CoPilot Live 5 is a superb product, a pleasure to use and will definitely get you from A to B with the least amount of hassle using CoPilot's Traffic feature!
I must say I am impressed with the amount of ground that ALK have managed to cover in new features in this update to make it an excellent product. Submit A Support Request. Also great for planning trips ahead of time! CoPilot Toolbar ALK have still kept the CoPilot toolbar that you would see at the top of the screen but they have enhanced this to include more buttons on a pull down menu. Night Mode Support Another new feature in CoPilot Live 5 is the ability to not only use CoPilot in Night mode by changing the colour scheme, but also the ability to let CoPilot detect when it thinks dusk or dawn is for the area you are in, and to have it switch automatically for you.
How much has CoPilot really advanced? Con's To install POI's you still have to import them to the desktop version of CoPilot and then export to the Pocket PC whilst having to transfer the entire map set to the storage card which is a very lengthy process which people won't want to do all that often, and it does make updating POI's or Speed Cameras a bit of a chore.
Map Upgrades ALK will be offering a "scratch-off" product key card similar to what Orange or Vodafone sells as top-up cards. Although the receiver draws its power from the Pocket PC device, the kit conveniently comes with a volt car adapter and includes an external antenna with a built-in magnet for placement on a car roof.
We found the CoPilot Live desktop software easy to use. You can select an area of any size to download, and you may adjust which types of points of interest POI to include.
You are limited by only your handheld's available memory; for example, the dataset for New York City with a mile radius and all available POI took up 15MB. As soon the receiver acquires the necessary signals, which can take a few minutes, the software automatically provides text-based and voice-based turn-by-turn directions to your chosen destination. If you miss a turn, it will recalculate a new route for you.
But since these are wav files you have all freedom in the world to change the voice prompts. In this particular case I replaced the JustAhead. Here is the wav file format. Make sure you use the same format, and record at least a few milliseconds. This is still not a simple process you need to completely remove Pocket Speech when you want to use Wav files but at least now it works as opposed to version 4. I like the fact that the TTS speaks the street names, but eventually it was too chatty for me personally and I reverted back to the Wav files which are recorded in an excellent quality, by the way.
Note that you do have a number of days up to 4 before you need to activate the product. This looks like ALK are preparing a demo mode where you can maybe download a "quick start" pack from their server, and some map samples there is also some mention of a "Lite" version in the help file. I wish more vendors would offer that. As was already the case in version 4 you can transfer your license between Pocket PCs.
This is handy when you need to re-install to a new machine for whatever reason You will need an Internet connection for that. A very easy, "no questions asked" process, making hardware transitions a snap. Different from the previous version the automatic setup of your GPS connection now works.
It's not fast selecting the settings manually is still faster if you happen to know them but it does eventually find the GPS and the right speed. Announcement Options. I like the new announcement options Speak Turn Warning but I have the suspicion that they don't work perfectly yet.
In TTS mode when you deselect the 1 mile announcement it will also mute the 0. One of the biggest changes is the move towards a more ergonomic way for data input. You see the finger friendly menus as an example. It's a pretty big change for CoPilot, comparable to the change from Windows 3. Oh, never mind. That was long before your time. So you have a high probability that you can select an item rather than having to type it. A very cute addition to the POI feature is the proximity alert.
In TTS mode you'll hear the whole text which can be pretty annoying , in Wav mode you'll just see the flash screen it would have been nice to have a dedicated Wav file for that.
I haven't yet figured out how to add custom POI's but I think this should make for a very neat Security camera warner without the need for external programs. CoPilot 5 now can automatically switch between day and night mode depending on your location and time. You can also force the change with the rocker switch push it to the right. The color selections for both modes are pretty acceptable, but if you are adventurous you can change them in the.
CFG files in the program directory. Make sure you do a backup of the. CFG files before you play around. So you'll have to wait for the next announcement to see hear if the volume is as you want it to be.
